About Adopt an Animal Program

What is Adopt an Animal Program at Dreamworld?
Adopt an Animal Program at is a conservation initiative for Dreamworld's guests to sponsor selected animals in park and directly contribute to saving some of the most critically endangered animals on Earth.

How do I adopt an animal?
Animal Adoptions are available for purchase online or at selected retail outlets at Dreamworld: Koala Photos at Australian Wildlife Experience (Dreamworld map reference 1C); Kodak Express at the Main Street (Dreamworld map reference 8E); Guest Services at Front Gate (Dreamworld map reference 9F). How much does it cost?
There are four sponsorship levels available for the program: Bronze $50, Silver $100, Gold $500 and Platinum $1000. The higher the level, the more inclusions there are in the adoption gift package.

How can I pay for my adoption?
Online purchase requires a Credit Card. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Diners. You may wish to pay in person during your visit to Dreamworld at selected retail outlets accepting cash, eftpos and credit card. We do not accept payment via post, or cheques or money orders.

Where does my donation go? How is the money distributed?
The funds raised from the Adopt an Animal program go toward the Dreamworld Conservation Fund which supports like-minded organisations involved in external research and conservation projects for animals.

How long is the adoption for?
All adoptions are for a 12 month period. You will have an option to renew your sponsorship upon the completion of the year.

Are adoptions tax deductible?
Unfortunately, they are not, as none of Dreamworld's wildlife projects are government funded.Back to Top

Adoption Packages

What do I get when I adopt an animal?
You will receive an adoption package of rewards and benefits according to the sponsorship level. All packages include a personalised Adoption Certificate, a photograph and a fact sheet about your adopted animal, a wildlife postcard and a quarterly Wildlife e-newsletter. Are there any postage charges for the adoption package?
There is no cost for postage. We will ship your adoption package free of charge anywhere in Australia or internationally. However please note that we do not take responsibility for packs lost or damaged in postage.

When do I receive my adoption package?
Please allow up to 4 weeks for adoption pack delivery. In some instances it may take longer, especially if you live outside Australia. We have a high demand for adoptions, and your patience is greatly appreciated.

Which name appears on the Adoption Certificate?
There is a separate field marked “Enter the name to appear on the adoption certificate at the 2nd Step of the online purchase process". This can be either your own name or the name of the person you intend to present the adoption as a gift.

Is there any preference of more expensive sponsorships over the cheaper ones?
No. We believe that every donation makes a difference no matter how big or small it is. We never prefer any one sponsor over the other.Back to Top

Can I adopt any animal at any sponsorship level?
Yes. We believe that all our animals are equally important, so there are no individual animal or species prices.

Is there a limit on the number of animals I can adopt?
No. You can adopt as many animals as you like.

Is there a limit on the number of people who can adopt each animal?
No. Each animal has an unlimited number of sponsors. We never prefer any one sponsor over the other.

Can my school, company or club adopt an animal?
Yes. Animal Adoptions are available for individuals, families, schools, clubs, companies and any other animal enthusiast groups. Schools may consider using Animal Adoption as a part of their education program and visit the animal exhibit when they come to Dreamworld. Similarly, Animal Adoption is a great activity for organisations and clubs that are looking to get involved in a good cause.

I live outside of Australia, can I adopt an animal? Do you post adoption packs internationally?
Yes. Adopt an Animal program is available to international sponsors. We will post your adoption package outside Australia. However, it may take longer than four weeks for you to receive your pack. Please also be aware that we do not take responsibility for packs lost or damaged in postage.Back to Top

What animals are available for adoption?
We have a great selection of animals of different species including Bengal and Sumatran tigers, cougars, dingoes, Tasmanian devils, kangaroos, cassowaries, cockatoos, crocodiles, wombats, bilbies and pythons.

Why are the koalas not available for adoption?
Dreamworld is a Gold Sponsor of the Australian Koala Foundation (AKF), contributing directly to saving koalas in the wild. All Dreamworld koalas are part of the AKF program, therefore they are the only animals at Dreamworld that cannot be chosen in our Adopt an Animal program. However, if you wish to adopt Dreamworld's koala’s, you can visit AKF website.

Can I change the animal I adopt next year?
Yes. You have a choice of a different animal from year to year. You can also adopt as many animals in one year as you like – there is no limit.

What are the most popular animals to sponsor? Which are the least?
The most popular animals are tigers, cougars, dingoes, wombats and crocodiles. Adopt an Animal program is a great way to learn more about any animal, so you might want to choose an animal that you know very little or nothing about.

How do I find out about news and updates for the Adopt an Animal program?
All program members will receive a quarterly e-newsletter with exclusive updates all about Dreamworld
animals, wildlife projects and conservation programs. You can also check information at anytime at
