About the design

The scarecrows are created by the students and staff of Blacktown North Public School beautifully embody the 2026 theme, "Nature Guardians: Protecting Wildlife, Country & Tomorrow." They are both positioned in different parts of the garden, these two scarecrows emphasise the shared responsibility across generations to care for the environment. The smaller scarecrow, inspired by the creativity and passion of young learners, reflects their commitment to protecting wildlife and habitats. The smaller scarecrow inspires students to act as custodians of coastal environments. This ensures that beaches remain healthy, wildlife thrives, and the natural beauty and cultural importance of these areas are preserved for future generations.

The big scarecrow showcases the wisdom and guidance of the school in fostering environmental care. Together, they highlight the importance of working collaboratively across ages to address climate care, pollution prevention, and the protection of Country—the land and culture deeply connected to the environment. Through these creative designs, Blacktown North Public School is bringing learning to life, inspiring all who see the scarecrows to reflect on their role as Nature Guardians, dedicated to protecting wildlife and ensuring a sustainable tomorrow.
