About the design
‘Growing a Greener Future’
Every part of our scarecrow tells the story of how our school is caring for the environment. Together, we are creating a healthier home for plants, animals and people.
· Native Bee Hive Head – Native bees are amazing pollinators. They help flowers, fruits and vegetables grow, supporting healthy ecosystems and our school garden.
· Possum Friend – Our school has installed possum boxes to provide safe homes for native wildlife and encourage biodiversity.
· Vegetable Garden Arms – Fresh herbs (rosemary and thyme) remind us that growing our own food is healthy, sustainable and good for the planet.
· Living Garden Torso and Garden Bed Location– Plants clean the air, provide habitats for wildlife and help create a greener environment.
· Plastic Bottle Legs – Made from recycled plastic bottles, these legs show that everyday rubbish can be reused instead of ending up in landfill.
Our theme, "Growing a Greener Future" connects our scarecrow's features—pollinators, native wildlife, gardening, recycling and sustainability—under one clear, memorable message.
