The Costume Attendant supports park operations by managing the distribution, collection, laundering, and upkeep of uniforms, costumes, and linen to ensure all team members are well-presented and operationally ready.

Key Responsibilites and day-to-day tasks:

Laundry is more than just washing - it involves problem solving, garment and costume presentation, teamwork, and supporting the overall operational readiness of the park.

  • Operating commercial laundry equipment safely, including washing, drying, ironing, steaming, folding, and preparing garments
  • Distributing and collecting uniforms, costumes, and linen across the park
  • Delivering internal customer service to team members
  • Identifying garments and costumes need repairs or special treatment
  • Maintaining uniform stock levels and reporting shortages to supervisor
  • Communicating effectively within the team to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and on time
  • Coordinating locker key distribution and returns
  • Monitoring chemical stock levels and reporting shortages to supervisors
  • Assisting with training of new staff when required
  • Assisting with uniform deliveries and collections across several park locations

The role is primarily based in wardrobe and laundry facilities, with regular movement between operational areas across the park. Team members work with commercial laundry equipment, garment steamers, electric irons, and chemical products while maintaining high standards of organisation, hygiene, and efficiency. The environment can become warm and physically active due to the use of industrial laundry machinery and the constant movement of garments and linen.

Indoor/outdoor requirements

  • Primarily indoor within laundry and wardrobe facilities
  • Regular movement across park locations
  • Some outdoor work required in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and wet weather

Physical demands

This is a hands-on, physically active role suited to people who enjoy being on their feet and working in a busy operational environment. Physical requirements may include:

  • Standing and walking for extended periods
  • Repetitive movements such as folding, sorting, ironing, and hanging garments
  • Regular bending, stretching, reaching, and carrying
  • Manual handling and lifting of laundry bags, chemicals, linen, and boxes of stock (up to approximately 20kg)
  • Operating industrial laundry machinery and handling chemicals safely

Shift patterns or peak periods if relevant

  • Rotating shifts between approximately 5:00am – 9:00pm
  • Weekend, public holiday, and peak-season availability required
  • Increased operational demand during school holidays, special events, and peak trading periods
