Costa Georgiadis is one of Australia’s most celebrated environmental educators. He has earned the reputation of a true “nature champion” by using his infectious energy to connect people with the environment.
Costa’s work goes far beyond traditional gardening advice: he champions a holistic approach focused on “gardening the soil and the soul.”
Costa actively rallies Australian children to get outside, explore biodiversity and protect local ecosystems. He is a vocal advocate for sustainable living, reducing waste and community composting. He is famous for his mantra: “There is no such thing as waste in nature.”
Costa is anchor for “Gardening Australia, a prominent face for Junior Landcare and brings nature education to younger generations as “Costa the Garden Gnome” on Get Grubby TV and also hosts Gardening Australia Junior.
Lota State School has created a scarecrow of Costa because they believe he is an excellent role model for all of us – young and old and everyone in between.
