Easter Bilby Week at Dreamworld
Release Date: 16-04-2025

Hop to it! Dreamworld Wildlife Foundation hosts Easter Bilby Week to support endangered Aussie icons
This Easter, the Dreamworld Wildlife Foundation (DWF) is turning the spotlight on one of Australia’s most precious — and most vulnerable — native animals: the Greater Bilby. From 15–21 April, guests can join in the fun during Easter Bilby Week at the theme park, a special celebration full of family-friendly activities designed to raise awareness and funds for bilby conservation.
Bilbies, with their oversized ears, velvety fur and twitchy little snoots, are a national treasure — but they’re in trouble. Once found across 70% of Australia, they are now listed as endangered in Queensland and presumed extinct in New South Wales. Their decline is largely due to habitat destruction, invasive predators, and altered fire regimes. Without immediate action, this beloved Aussie battler could vanish from the wild entirely.
Dreamworld is committed to changing that, but they need the Gold Coast’s support.

What the Dreamworld Wildlife Foundation supports
The Dreamworld Wildlife Foundation is a significant zoological conservation funder in Australasia. DWF supports breeding programs, habitat restoration, and education efforts — all aimed at protecting Australia’s wildlife. For the bilby, this means funding crucial work to bring their numbers back from the brink.
DWF’s vision is to protect threatened species through direct action, public awareness, and strong partnerships, ensuring animals like the bilby remain part of Australia’s future.
