Dreamworld and Triple M GOLD unite to honour Energex heroes

This weekend, 92.5 Triple M Gold and Dreamworld, alongside Optus, are celebrating the resilience and dedication of Energex workers and National Disaster Management Services (NDMS) Australia volunteers who helped restore the Gold Coast after Tropical Cyclone Alfred. The event highlights that the Gold Coast is open for business, with its iconic attractions and vibrant community bouncing back stronger than ever.

On Saturday, 22 March 2025, these frontline heroes will be honoured with a special morning of appreciation, featuring thrilling rides, support from Optus, great food, and a live broadcast of Triple M Gold’s ‘Dead Set Legends’ from 8am. This event is a tribute to those who worked tirelessly to bring the community back to its feet.

Dreamworld will open early from 8:30am exclusively for Energex workers, NDMS Australia volunteers, and their families, offering them a well-deserved morning of fun and appreciation. Triple M Gold’s ‘Dead Set Legends’ show with Eliott and Ben Hannant will broadcast live from the park. Guests will also have exclusive access to select rides, including Dreamworld’s new world, Rivertown.

This event is about more than just fun—it’s a chance for the community to show appreciation for those who serve in times of crisis. From restoring power to providing emergency relief, both Energex workers and NDMS Australia volunteers embody resilience and service.

NDMS Australia (National Disaster Management Services) is a humanitarian-focused non-for-profit that rapidly deploys trained volunteers—including emergency personnel, veterans, and dedicated civilians—to provide immediate disaster relief. Their contributions during Tropical Cyclone Alfred were invaluable, working alongside Energex teams to support recovery efforts and ensure community safety.

SCA's Head of Regional Content and Gold Coast General Manager, Blair Woodcock, said: “The Gold Coast always bounces back quickly. On Saturday, we’re celebrating the incredible Energex workers and NDMS Australia volunteers who made that happen.”

“Triple M Gold is proud to partner with Dreamworld to recognise the frontline heroes who stepped up when our community needed them most. We can’t wait to bring the Dead Set Legends to Dreamworld for an unforgettable day!” said Blair Woodcock.

Greg Yong, CEO of Dreamworld, echoed this sentiment.

“At Dreamworld, we believe in the power of community. The Gold Coast is open for business, and we can’t wait to welcome visitors back to experience everything our incredible city has to offer,” he said.

“Seeing the tireless efforts of the Energex teams and NDMS Australia volunteers firsthand was humbling. This event is a small way for us to say thank you, give them a chance to unwind, and remind them how valued they are.”

Dreamworld and Triple M Gold, alongside Optus, are proud to be part of a community that stands together in times of need. This morning of celebration is a token of appreciation for those who give so much.
