Dreamworld and Australian Geographic unite to launch WILD – a new era for Australian wildlife experiences

Dreamworld has today announced the launch of WILD with Australian Geographic, a landmark partnership between two iconic Australian brands committed to wildlife education, conservation, and protection.

Dreamworld’s much-loved native wildlife precinct – home to kangaroos, koalas, bilbies, dingoes, tree kangaroos, and more – will now proudly be known as WILD. The reimagined precinct celebrates the beauty and diversity of Australia’s unique fauna while inspiring visitors to connect with, learn about, and protect the natural world.

A highlight of the transformation is the unveiling of ‘Our Country’; a breathtaking 45-minute immersive experience housed in the WILD Theatre. Featuring floor-to-ceiling visuals and surround sound, the show explores the natural landscapes of Australia, from rainforests, oceans and desert land to shooting stars, right through to the harsh conditions of snow, fires and floods. Made up of the works of 25 specialist cinematographers, Australian Geographic has created a compelling and emotional event, stimulating all those who see it to want to immerse themselves in Australia first-hand.

The launch of WILD follows significant upgrades to Dreamworld’s wildlife facilities, reflecting its commitment to animal welfare and conservation. Recent projects include the newly upgraded enclosure for resident wedge-tailed eagle, Goldie, the ongoing development of a brand-new habitat for Lumholtz Tree Kangaroos, and the opening of the Bilby Discovery Centre in 2023, dedicated to the conservation and education of this endangered species.

“This partnership with Australian Geographic is a milestone in our mission to champion wildlife education and conservation,” said Michele Barnes, Head of Life Sciences at Dreamworld.

“WILD will give guests the chance to engage with native species in new, exciting ways while reinforcing the importance of protecting Australia’s precious biodiversity.”

Izaac Blomley of Australian Geographic said the partnership was a natural fit.

“Australian Geographic has always been dedicated to telling the stories of our environment, wildlife, and heritage. Partnering with Dreamworld allows us to bring these stories to life in an unforgettable way – inspiring the next generation of conservationists.”

The collaboration between Dreamworld and Australian Geographic brings together decades of expertise in entertainment, education, and environmental storytelling. Together, they aim to create meaningful connections between visitors and the natural world – ensuring that fun and discovery go hand-in-hand with conservation impact.
