Our Nature Guardian Scarecrow was proudly created by our school’s Enviro Leaders, a group of passionate Year 5 students who work together to care for our school environment and protect our natural world. Each week, these students help classes recycle paper and cardboard, reducing waste and keeping our school clean and tidy. They also care for our school garden by watering, weeding and nurturing vegetables and plants.

Our scarecrow proudly stands at the top of our garden beneath our largest gum tree, watching over the plants and wildlife that call our school home. He represents our commitment to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. His jumpsuit and flannel shirt were reused from clothing that would otherwise have gone to landfill, while his unique pot-plant head gives new purpose to an everyday item. He is filled with mulch from our garden, which is also used to nourish our plants and help them grow. Flowers surrounding our Nature Guardian encourage bees and other pollinators into our garden. By supporting pollination, we help our vegetables, plants and wildlife thrive. Our scarecrow reminds us that everyone can be a Nature Guardian and help protect wildlife, Country and tomorrow.
