About the design
Sustainable by Design
Narrabri Public School’s entry celebrates our school garden and the importance of creating a healthy, sustainable environment for plants, insects and people.
At the heart of our design is the idea of giving old and unwanted items a new purpose. The wheelbarrow, watering cans and other equipment may have ended up I nlandfill, but instead they have been transformed into something useful, colourful and full of life. By reusing and repurposing these materials, we are showing that small choices can make a big difference.
Our garden is a place where flowers and herbs grow and attract important pollinators like bees and other beneficial insects. These tiny visitors help our plants thrive and keep our garden healthy. Water is also precious, which is why our design reminds us to use it wisely and care for it every day.
Students from our Stage 2 and Stage 3 HPGE Art group have painted and decorated the upcycles equipment, using bright colours, flowers and leaves to bring our garden to life.
Our Sustainable Garden entry encourages everyone to grow, reuse, recycle and think creatively. Together, we can care for our garden, support pollinators, save water and build a more sustainable future.
