About the design

Recycling is an important way we can help protect our environment and conserve the Earth’s natural resources. When we recycle materials such as plastic bottles, cans and cardboard, we reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill and help prevent useful materials from being thrown away. Recycling also helps conserve resources because fewer new materials need to be collected and produced. By reusing items instead of throwing them away, we can reduce pollution, save energy and protect natural habitats.

At Yugumbir State School, our Student Council has been doing its part to support these conservation efforts. Students have been collecting, sorting and recycling materials to reduce waste and encourage our school community to make more environmentally friendly choices. Through these actions, we are learning that small changes can make a big difference when we work together. This is why we have chosen to create our school scarecrow using recycled materials. Instead of purchasing new materials, we are giving everyday items a new purpose and turning waste into something creative and useful.

Our scarecrow represents our commitment to recycling, conservation and caring for our environment. By creating it from recycled materials, we hope to inspire others to think carefully about what they throw away and consider how they can reuse, reduce and recycle.
